Really good food. Gave me a recommendation on a sauce that made the burrito. The freebird size burrito is large and definitely fill you up. The service was really good, with a good atmosphere. Don't to to cafe rio if you can come here.

Looking for a snack while driving up to park city to shred some nar but it was getting kind of late. That didn't matter because even though they had just closed Rob was awesome and made me an end of the night special. He loaded it up with delicious home made guacamole, chipotle salsa toasted garlic bits, pico, jalapeño, and cilantro. Awesome combo and it really hit the spot after a long day of traveling. Thanks Rob, you rock.

Very clean and eclectic. The service was pretty slow but it was apparent that the young kids working the counter were being trained. So an acceptable amount of time was sufficient as they learned how to assemble the burritos. I wasn't in a rush so it didn't bother me all that much. I had their burrito bowl and ordered double meat w/ steak & chicken. The trainees only gave me one scoop for each protein. As they were obviously being trained I opted to not say anything as this is something that a trainer should be aware of. My extra chips and guacamole were stale and didn't live up to the advertised signage on the front of the store. I will definitely go back but probably to evaluate the management and see if they've fixed any of the issues presented here. I can handle trainees and trainers, it's part of the business, but sub or food isn't well reviewed. Perhaps another chance on the guac will fix this sour taste in my mouth.

The food was inedible. The rice was I don't know how old. It was bizarrely limey, overly cilantro'd, and the beans tasted like they'd been in that hotel pan for days and days. I took three bites of it within the span of an hour and finally tossed it, thoroughly annoyed, and went to bed without dinner. The gentleman behind the counter was very kind and instructive but there was no getting past the food. I will never eat here again.

I ordered a very simple, chicken w/red/green peppers and onions. On the menu, I chose the one that was $2.99 - as I wasn't really hungry and I don't eat the other "stuff". I asked if they had gluten free tortillas - no - so I asked for the food on a plate. You can see by the pic I took how little food there was - and yet, when I got to the register, the girl rang it up at $7! Um, let's try this again. Because I asked for the food on a PLATE, sans tortilla, I'm charged more? What I asked for wasn't on the menu? What, subtract a tortilla and they're confused? Note: We were the only people there. I watched as a young guy scrubbed vigorously at the grill trying to clean it. His face was protected by a bandana. He stopped at one point to tell the manager? that the mitts they provided him were garbage as they had already melted through and were not protecting him. She didn't seem to care. A "tell someone else" response was what he got. Food was okay.

A really solid quick meal, as well as affordable. My party was more impressed with the burritos than I was with my nachos, but that's a give in. The place was a mini disaster; missing the proper utensils, lids for the medium cups and the line (where the food is visibly prepared) pretty messy -- as in could use a little attention -- however not dirty by any standards. The 3 teens working were friendly, accommodating (as we had never been there) and professional in the sense there was no "supervision" in sight, yet they didn't miss a beat. We'll definitely go back again. And props to management on training their employees well.

Usually a fan of Freebirds but this one has growing pains. The place is just dirty! Around the beverage dispenser was gross. The tables were filthy. The manager walked by tables and made a passing attempt to brush of the food on a table with a used napkin, followed by a gent with a rag and I mean rag which was washed last when it was new, in other words I doubt any one would wash their car with it for fear of getting the car dirty. Just not what I'm used to! Has such high hopes. Very disappointed!

not very good... as a chain I expected better... it's always tough to get good staff with the economics in Park City for a franchise... those that do succeed pay much more than the average to attract better staff...

This place is dirty, overpriced and the food tastes like shit. Seemed like every other bite I spit out cause I couldn't chew the chicken

Could not even finish my meal the worst burrito queso and salsa I have ever had!! All had a very bland taste - I'm not sure what cheese the queso was made of but it wasn't any "real" cheese I've ever tasted! Lots of restaurants in this area pick a different one!!!

The negative reviews on this location must be outdated. I'm also a long-time fan of Freebird from Austin and Dallas and this location did not disappoint. Service was great and the food was perfect. I'm glad to have them in PC and I will go back.

The food is ok. It's pretty easy to make a good burrito, and I think this place almost tries TOO hard. I'm a huge fan of Chipotle and Café Rio, so I wanted to give this place a chance. Not so much... My review comes after they were open a short time, so that could be an issue, but here goes: My chips were all broken, I actually went up for more and the girl scooped the chips with my basket. MY BASKET - I don't think that is sanitary. That also brings me to how grubby the staff is. Messy hair, dirty clothes. They look like a bunch of ski bums who walked right in to work off the slope. I MAY walk in and take a look at the staff again - if they look the same, I'm out.

Once again, another chain restaurant in Park City that disappoints! I ordered a veggie burrito but nothing had taste except the very old guacamole. Over cooked rice and old/ tasteless beans. Then there was a 3 min wait because they ran out of rice. Well, got to stick to going to Whole Foods for a decent lunch.

Got the burrito bowl and had such measly portions. Probably one of the saddest worst meals I've ever had. And tears and lettuce do not mix.

This was my first visit ever to a freebirds. What can I say other then it was just ok. I ordered the salad and it was kind of a mushy mess. The rice was all stuck together and broken (over cooked) It could have used some crunch texture other then the warm limp lettuce. My friend ordered a steak burrito and had a hard time cutting thru the tough tortilla. The flavor was ok although the steak was chewy. His rice was the cilantro flavored and was mushy too. There were just a few other people there when we arrived at the height of lunch. I do not know if they will stay in business with such a shortage of customers. The staff was friendly, the place was reasonably clean, the food was just bla.... There are better choices for Mexican food especially if you like a little zip in flavor. My salad was just under $8.00. For me Cafe rio's tostada is still a better value and quality.

Ok, so the service is not great and the food is pretty average but for me it's a pretty simple order which I enjoy about once a month and I do but it for my employees about as often. First, if there is more than one other person in line I go elsewhere. If not I keep it simple and it's usually pretty good. Try adding queso to your burrito, makes it much better. Am I aways go light rice, double meat. Makes it much better. I'll keep going on my terms.

This is one of the worst places to eat in Park City. I can't tell you how excited I was when I heard that Freebirds was opening. I used to live in Texas and went at least once a week. My first experience my steak was almost all grizzle, but I decided to give it another try. I went back today and after waiting in-line for 20 minutes I left without a burrito. I asked for the cilantro lime rice and they told me they were out so I said that was fine and I'll take a little of the other rice. I got to the beans and they asked me what I wanted and I told them refried. They then told me they were out, but to continue with my burrito and they would have some by time I got to the end of the line. I get to the end of the line and they told me they weren't going to have any more beans either. I ended up leaving and going to Cafe Rio for lunch. This is my first time writing a review, but I had heard from others similar complaints and saw the same thing for myself. I have been to the one in Taylorsville and it was good so next time I'm down in SLC I'll give it another try, but I'll never go to the one in PC again!

Coming from California and going to the original freebirds, I was really excited to see a freebirds here.. Unfortunately this was nothing near what I expected. The service was horrible and there was nobody else in there. The food is nowhere near freebirds standards. The burritos were tiny and overpriced and they only have an option of cheap queso cheese if you want hot cheese for nachos. Overall this freebirds is giving a very bad name to an awesome chain. I would not recommend it at all.

Huge burritos, they were pretty good. You order your burrito and pick the toppings as you go through the line. My friend got their "hidden menu" super burrito, this thing was huge! Once we got to the end of the line they asked us to guess how much it weighed, I guess correctly so they gave me a free desert. We rode our motorcycles up there from Ogden, and man, after eating that huge burrito it was an uncomfortable ride back.

This place is not good at all and that is evident when you see the place always empty. I doubt this place will stay open in Park City much longer especially when you can get a much better Burrito at Cafe Rio around the corner Either way this was a one and done for me

Wow, I am VERY surprised at the bad reviews this place has. We checked out this place on a whim the other day and we absolutely LOVED our burrito. (and I'm picky) You pick your own ingredients and if somebody says it was bland, maybe they didn't put anything good into it? It's a little more expensive, because they use higher quality ingredients like Grass Fed Beef and All Natural Chicken. We have a place where we live like this, similar prices and I was NOT impressed so I was a bit weary when I saw the menu. Everything tasted extremely fresh, VERY flavorful and perfect. We will definitely go back there & have already recommended to a few people. The people behind the counter was very friendly & the service was great. Can't wait to go back.

Nasty burrito. .. I bought a small burrito and it still cost me close to 10 dollars! The rice and beans were hard like they weren't cooked long enough, and everything was flavorless. Sadly, there was barely any chicken in the burrito too... what a waste of money!

We tried this place when it first opened and didn't have the best experience. They ran out of some items and the customer service was less than average. So we decided to try again a month later, and found the exact same results (hence this review). There are much better choices for the same genre of food in the area. My advice: go elsewhere. Fine food, poorly managed.

I'm so happy a new restaurant is in town at Kimball Junction! I just tried Freebirds for the first time today and I really liked it. There are some good points and some bad points so I'll try to list all of my impressions of this place. Freebirds is great for low carb eaters. They have a burrito bowl on the menu so it's easy to order, not like at nearby Cafe Rio where they look at you with confusion when you ask for a burrito with no tortilla. The meat is high quality here. Good, flavorful marinated steak is tasty and they offer both white meat and dark meat chicken choices. The steak was much better than the white meat chicken. They also have veggie options and pork. Everything I tried was so well seasoned that I didn't have to reach for the hot sauce! This isn't the best date night spot if you hope to get lucky later because you will have a serious case of dragon breath for hours after eating here. There are lots of side choices -- two different kinds of rice, several different varieties of beans, shredded lettuce, lots of good salsa choices, two types of cheese, sour cream, sauteed onions / green peppers / red peppers, and more. I loved the options for toppings, although the lady fixing my bowl was a bit stingy on the portions (even when I asked nicely for extra extra extra pico de gallo)! I don't eat tortillas, but the ones here didn't tempt me. While available in several flavors (wheat, flour, corn, spinach, cayenne), the tortillas aren't fresh made or even warmed at the shop. They sit on the counter in sealed plastic bags. You can "make it a meal" and add a drink and a small side of queso dip and chips for an additional charge (I never did see a sign as to how much additional it cost me). The chips and queso had just the right portion size to be a good side. The chips were nice, light, crispy and salty. The queso was good (tasted just like melted Velveeta) but it formed an unappetizing skin on the top after a few minutes. If you don't eat your queso dip quickly, it will congeal into an unappetizing mess. The soda fountain features Pepsi products (I was happy to see Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Mt. Dew as options) as well as freshly brewed unsweetened or sweetened iced tea. The ordering set-up is like every other burrito place: line up and tell the people behind the counter what meat and toppings you want. Easy. The employees here were SUPER friendly and easy to understand and communicate with, unlike other Mexican places in town where you are yelled at by employees who barely speak English (sorry if that sounds bad but it's true). I felt extremely welcome here and all of the workers were super friendly and accommodating. My major gripe is that it's just dang expensive. Our lunch -- two burrito bowls, 2 sodas and 2 small sides of chips and queso rang up at close to $32.00. Ouch. We did get sour cream, guacamole and extra meat, but it was unclear what toppings we had to pay extra for and how much all of this was going to cost us. I think the prices are way too high for what we got. I would eat here again but I would be hesitant due to the high prices. I can eat just about the same thing at Cafe Rio for about $18.00. Regardless of the high prices, I'll be back. The high quality meat, friendly employees and giant photo from the movie "Easy Rider" makes Freebirds a-ok on my list!

Everything was flavorless and tasted extremely processed. Good on them for using grass fed beef but that won't get me back there with how bad everything tasted.

Yet another burrito joint! This place didn't wow me and I can't for the life of me understand why they need 3 spoons in ever food container. Just use the smallest one and put 1, 2 or 3 scoops on the burrito depending on the size of it. I waiting for 7 mins while the staff was looking for the correct spoons for my burrito size!

While similar to chipotle in the style you order you food, this meal is larger, more delicious, and usually cheaper.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
